50 MILES – ONE NIGHT – SEE THE CITY IN A NEW LIGHT!
Event date : 16th – 17th June 2018
Registration for this event will take place between 8:00pm and 9:00pm on the West Car Park of the Royal Highland Showground, which is also the finish line to the challenge.
Our challenge will start at approximately 9:30pm with our route heading directly for the Forth Road Bridge, from here we will have excellent views of the rail bridge and the new Queensferry Crossing hopefully in time for sunset. We then cycle along the coast looking back at the 3 bridges lit up in the night sky.
There is a feed stop along the route serving complimentary drinks, pasta and lots of tasty treats – so take a break, rest the legs, and re-energise before hopping back onto the saddle to finish the ride.
Following the feed stop we are in the city and tackle the biggest elevation of the route, over Arthur’s seat – an extinct Volcano located at the bottom of the Royal Mile which offers impressive panoramic views of the city. As well as Arthur’s Seat, we’ll be taking in some of Edinburgh’s most beautiful and iconic sights en route – Holyrood Palace, Scottish Parliament Buildings, Edinburgh Castle, to name but a few.
After covering 50 miles, we finish our challenge in the early hours of Sunday morning, pedalling triumphantly across the finish line to claim our finisher’s medal and goody bag, whilst enjoying a well-deserved hot drink and a slice of cake.
With only 400 places available, places are allocated on a first come, first served basis so REGISTER TODAY!
